Didn't the McCanns have a nanny?

Where is she? Did thay have one? I'm sure that I read that they did.

I'm surprised that she isn't telling the press what good parents they are, or, alternately, out there with them, helping with the twins. She would be a familiar face and bring some routine into their lives

Didn't the McCanns have a nanny?
Yes the Mccanns did have a full time Nanny but they decided not to take her on their holiday,,other than that little is known about her
Reply:I read a newpaper report that had tried to interview the Nanny but she refused bacause she had a big bust up with the McCanns before she left.
Reply:Yes I was thinking about her too..........what a coincidence she was not on the "holiday" too. Even more mysterious is why hasn't she been interviewed, and if she has what did she say??

Yet another curious thing with this case!

.......a bit like since the Diana thing.........what happened to the bodyguard who survived the crash? Did he get paid off to disappear??
Reply:YEAH, they did, I, for 1 would like to know where she is, and hear some "opinions"
Reply:Apparently their full time Nanny who was supposed to go on holiday with them, had to return to Canada (?) because of a family illness.

I have been surprised that none of the tabloids have tracked her down for an exclusive, (just like the mysterious person that Gerry "saved" on that flight back to the UK), the fact that no one has seen hide nor hair of her is just another weird piece in this puzzle.
Reply:Yes they did, and I read an interview in which she said she was devastated at what had happened. She was very supportive.

Oh and she was supposed to go with them, but something happened and she had to pull out at the last moment.

I'm afraid I can't remember - it was soon after Madeleine disappeared though.
Reply:According to Gerry McCann's sister, they had a "brilliant" full-time nanny at home. It would probably be easier on the McCanns if they had her in Portugal so they would not have to look after the twins (they can't take them back to the creche until at least the end of the summer as paying guests at Ocean Club have complained) but I get the feeling - and flame me if you like, but it's my feeling - that they Gerry is the archetypal tight-fisted Scot, and they are getting used to not working and living off freebies and the fund. Thus far, Mark Warner has paid for a procession of relatives to fly out and stay at the resort and they babysit for free, but I think they'd draw the line at paying a UK nanny's salary and bed/board, and the apartment which the McCanns have been generously loaned (they were staying in rented accommodation but moved out when somebody offered them the use of their place for free) has only two bedrooms.
Reply:They have paid her off to lie low and keep quiet.
Reply:ya they did have a Nanny
Reply:Yes the Mccanns did have a full time Nanny even though Kate was suppose to be working only 11/2 days a week, but they decided not to take her on their holiday, other than that little is known about her.
Reply:i thought the mccanns had the chance of a babysitter but declined as they thought they didnt need one, maybe they didnt if they would have stoppedINwith their kids instead of leaving them
Reply:I am sure i read that the Nanny was due to go on the holiday with them but couldn't in the end as she was ill. Shame she didn;t go coz if she had then Maddy may still be alive.

I'd bet money that the nanny has been told to keep her mouth shut about the McCanns life at home and paid off to remain quiet.
Reply:Yes the McCanns had a nanny but she fell ill before the fateful holiday and was unable to go. Haven't heard her take on the McCanns, I'm sure the gutter press would pay a hefty fee for her story....but perhaps there isn't one....
Reply:The McCanns both now dont work, so they can look after the twins themselves eh?
Reply:veryfunnyracist - If you think you're funny, you are not.

Why do you accuse a Portuguese? I bet it wasn't one who committed the crime...
Reply:For Christ's sake belt up about this tragic couple
