My father was in the Korean War and believes there is public information on the WWW that provides where and what time he served and what ranks he held while in the Army. Is this public information? Is there a resource someone can direct me to? i would love to make my father happy and put a smile on his face - any assistance would be greatly appreciated - thanks!
Military Records? Anyone familiar on how to get these?

Reply:The best thing to do is go to any veterans service organization such as disabled american veterans or your local veterans service office. There is quite a bit of paper work involved but they can help you get the answers. As far as the web goes I am not sure if there is any information there but go to usgov.gov and look for military affairs and see. also you can look up the veterans administration on the web or call them directly to see what is available.
Reply:There are also many many websites that are accepting pics and looking for veterans of those wars also. If is interested in that aspect also.
