If New Jersey just wants young talent and expiring contracts, wouldn't this trade work better?

New Jersey gets what it wanted and doesn't even have to buy out anybody.

Denver gets Jason Kidd. Basically, it's a mix of pre-Carter Nets and Post-Carter Nets. Its Kidd running an offense with AI, Melo, and a familiar face in Kenyon Martin. The team might have even more defense issues, but reaps unbelievable amounts of offensive firepower. Basically, they have the style of the suns.

Toronto-

They still have Calderon manning the point and a rebounding and defensive monster in Camby. Everybody's happy

Keep in mind that this is merely a basic structure. People can still be moved around to make this trade more appealing. If you want to do so, please post the link in your answer.

the package from dallas is way better...harris is better than ford, two first rounders from dallas compared to none in this deal, and the nets would have more money with the expiring contracts of george, diop, the buyout of stackhouse, and $3,000,000

toronto should trade ford for a quality wing (somebody who can score and defend the opponents best perimeter player)...camby would help their interior defense but then bosh would be left to guard a 3 or "small forward" something he probably isnt capable of and bargnani clearly isnt...

denver would be better offensively but they would literally have no interior presence on either side of the floor, they would get eaten alive by guys like duncan, dirk, pau, etc in the playoffs and they would lose a ton of rebounding....not to mention iverson has been excellent as a pg this year..impossible to win in the playoffs with the type of team they would have
Reply:if i were nuggets i wouldnt trade camby though thats the problem here
Reply:It's too late -- the Dallas trade is happening. The Devean George issue will be cleared up eventually.

But even theoretically speaking, it's hard to make a trade like this happen. Doesn't matter if the money works out -- the more players and teams you get involved, the more likely it is that one team or one player will screw it all up. Note the problem with George, which nobody saw coming... and that's just a two-team trade.

In terms of the players, I agree that Denver wouldn't want to unload Camby right now. They already have frontcourt issues with Nene out of action and Kenyon Martin showing his age. And by the way, the Raptors don't really need that trade: they've got Bosh and Bargnani, and they're a half-game away from 4th place in the East. It wouldn't matter what Denver or New Jersey needed if Toronto decided not to cooperate.
