What breed of dog do I have?

I adopted Turdle from our local animal shelter. They thought he was a terrier mix. Does anyone have any ideas about what breed/mixes he could be? His little face looks familiar, but I can't place it. Thanks!

Browse through www.akc.org and see what looks similar. He's prob a mix of at least two.





He looks part Beagle. Does he bay (long bark) when he barks?

Reply:He is surely part beagle. They do have a big bark for their size. He also looks like possibly part Jack Russel, so I would guess Russell and Beagle.

Reply:Looks like he may have some Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in him. They are short haired and have the same markings. If not maybe beagle. Look up some pictures of Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs and you will see a resemblance. Beagles have a distinguished bark. I'd bet it's a GSMD. mix. He sure is cute whatever he is

Reply:Must be something that carries the Roan/Merle color. Cattle Dog, Collie, Aussie. Something with something like one of those.
Reply:He is very cute but i'm not sure what he is. Some vets are able to give you some ideas of what breeds he may be also.
Reply:He looks like he has Blue Heeler aka Blue Cattle dog in him. I doubt he has much Terrior in him since his face is quite rounded, most likely Beagle there somwhere which has the same shape face. He isnt going to be a large dog looking at his fine legs %26amp; he isnt broad in the chest. My guess is a mix of Beagle %26amp; Blue Heeler with a little Jack Russell. His colouring is consistant of Blue Heeler %26amp; Jack Russell mixes and has the build of a Jack Russell, but the head has me puzzled and can only put Beagle to the shape.


He looks like a sweety and is intelligent obviously, hope you like walking him cause he is going to need to be kept busy lol.
Reply:When I looked at the picture, I immediately thought Beagle. I see others agree with me also. The legs look like a springer spanial to me. He is sooooo cute.

Reply:I agree that Turdle looks like part Beagle. Possibly part hound (there are many different kinds of hounds.) Do you know how old he is, or how big he will get? That also will give you a hint as to the breed.





Many shelters and rescues put terrier mix when they aren't sure.
